Nelson “Rolo” Flórez ya no continuará como director técnico del Cúcuta Deportivo, tras un inicio irregular en la Liga BetPlay I-2026 que dejó al equipo sin victorias en los primeros cuatro partidos del torneo.
El club nortesantandereano decidió prescindir de los servicios del entrenador bogotano luego de sumar solo dos empates y dos derrotas, lo que lo ubicó en la parte baja de la clasificación y en una situación comprometida en la tabla del descenso.
Aunque el equipo había logrado el ascenso a la máxima categoría bajo su mando el año pasado, la falta de resultados competitivos en la presente temporada fue el principal motivo para que la directiva tomara la decisión de relevarlo de su cargo.
Al mismo tiempo, en medios deportivos se ha especulado sobre posibles diferencias entre el técnico y la dirigencia del club, así como tensiones con algunos jugadores, aunque no ha habido una confirmación oficial al respecto.
