La Selección Colombia ya está lista para una nueva batalla en territorio chileno. Este martes 12 de septiembre, “australes” y “cafeteros” chocarán en el Estadio Monumental David Arellano, por la segunda jornada de las eliminatorias sudamericanas.

Por un lado, los locales buscan puntuar por primera vez luego de la pobre presentación en Montevideo, donde cayeron 3-1 ante Uruguay. Por otro lado, la visita busca ganar su segundo juego consecutivo y terminar con puntaje perfecto (6 de 6) esta doble fecha de eliminatorias.

“Esperamos un partido más abierto, con más espacios, debemos mejorar en el pase en la zona ofensiva y ser más efectivos”, mencionó en rueda de prensa Amaranto Perea, asistente técnico de la selección Colombia.

Novedades en los seleccionados
Juan Guillermo Cuadrado podría ser baja para Colombia debido a una tendinitis que se le agravó en la fecha pasada, ante Venezuela. Por el lado chileno, Alexis Sánchez regresa luego de tener el alta del cuerpo médico y estará disponible para este martes.

El terreno de juego: un factor condicionante
Un tema que preocupa a ambos seleccionados es el estado del terreno de juego del estadio Monumental. Hace unos días hubo un concierto de Bruno Mars y la cancha quedó en pésimas condiciones. Nada de ventajas para ningún conjunto, sin duda un factor a tener en cuenta y que puede condicionar el desarrollo de un partido vistoso.

“Esperamos que esté en buenas condiciones para el partido, si no lo está nos debemos adaptar a eso”, afirmó Jefferson Lerma, en rueda de prensa.

Saldo favorable reciente para la “tricolor”
Si hablamos del historial entre ambos, en total se han enfrentado en 42 oportunidades, con 15 triunfos para Chile, 16 empates y 11 victorias de Colombia. En Santiago, Chile ha ganado en 3 oportunidades, misma cantidad de empates, y Colombia se ha ido victorioso en 2 compromisos.

Eso sí, Colombia ha encarrilado 6 enfrentamientos sin perder ante Chile por las últimas 3 clasificatorias. 2 victorias y 4 empates. Rumbo a Brasil 2014 ganó 3-1 se visita y empató 3-3 en Barranquilla; para Rusia 2018, igualó ambos juegos, 1-1 de visita y 0-0 de local; finalmente, para Qatar 2022, no se sacaron ventajas en el sur del continente (2-2) y la selección colombiana, en el partido más reciente, triunfó por 3-1 en el Metropolitano.

El duelo está pactado para las 7:30 de la noche hora colombiana (9:30 pm en Chile) y se podrá ver para nuestro país a través de los canales RCN y Caracol.

EL DATO: Colombia acumula 3 victorias consecutivas por Eliminatorias: frente a Bolivia y Venezuela rumbo a Qatar 2022 y contra Venezuela rumbo al Mundial 2026.
